Adding the Curriculum To Your Website
Embed Codes
You’re welcome to embed any of the Beginning Farmer Curriculum modules or resources directly on your own website. Embedding the curriculum allows your audience can access this information in a filterable database without having to leave your site, and helps support a wider distribution of these materials. Visit this MSU webpage for an example of how the embedded curriculum could look on your website.

If you're interested in adding the curriculum to your website, click "Request Embed Code" to fill out a form and obtain the embed code. You may choose to add the full curriculum (all topics included), or just one topic.
How to Add the Embed Code to Your Website

Example of the Beginning Farmer Curriculum embedded on an MSU webpage
An embed code is a small piece of text that lets you display something from another website (such as a video or database) right on your own site.

Here is an example embed code from a YouTube video:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/et_6QwJi5bQ?si=6VM6fWGYXoNSihfG" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
To embed the Beginning Farmer Curriculum on your website, you simply copy the embed code we email you and paste it into your website, and the curriculum content will appear. Whenever we update the database, your embedded version automatically updates too.
1. Fill out the form
Fill out the form and specify which topic areas (i.e. Soil Health, Produce Safety, etc.) or resource types you would like to embed on your website. You can choose to embed the curriculum modules, the additional resources, or both.
2. Copy the embed code
Once you submit the form, you will receive the embed code in your email. Highlight and copy this.
3. Paste the embed code into a code block
Most website editors have a particular spot where you can paste code. For example, in dotCMS, you can add a generic content block, click the "source code" icon, and paste the code in the box. In website editors such as Wix, Squarespace, or Wordpress, you can add an element or content block labeled "Embed Code", "HTML", etc.
If you need more help, try searching on YouTube for your website system’s name plus “how to add an embed code.” There are many tutorials available.
The general instruction is to look for any of these terms in your page editor:
-
HTML Block
-
Embed
-
Custom Code
-
Code Snippet
-
Source / <> Icon

Paste the embed code into that section, and then save and publish. The embedded database should appear automatically on your website.
