This curriculum is an overview of produce safety on the farm. Participants will explore the farm through the lens of food safety and learn how to assess and mitigate risks to ensure safe fruits and vegetables.

Participants will explore the farm through the lens of food safety and discover how various farm activities can pose a risk to fresh produce.

What makes food unsafe?

This module will introduce participants to the basic science of foodborne-illness causing microorganisms in order to understand environmental factors that can mitigate the risks they pose to fresh produce on the farm.
